An art project in Turkey is bringing together people divided along ethnic and religious lines.
Twenty-four Kurdish and Turkish young *s have worked together to create documentaries and photographs about life in Turkish cities.
The results are now on display in the southern Turkish city of Diyarbakir. The art project is called BAK.
Latife Ulucinar is the coordinator.
"People, especially young people, living in different parts of Turkey don't know each other," she said. "Face-to-face [meeting] is important. We want to give some possibilities to these young people to experience the city."

The project members chose the following issues: The 1923 population exchange between Greece and Turkey; Roma people; and the tattoo culture.
Many works also featured the Kurds' years-long battle for minority rights.
"Zilan," a video documentary, recalls a massacre of thousands of Kurds and the exile of many more by the Turkish state in the 1930s.
"I found out that many killed were relatives of mine. The affected villages were very familiar," said co-director Derya Gumus.
"I met people who survived. [They were] the last witnesses. Even though I live there, I learned it very late as well, so I wanted to tell this."
Gumus admits that working with a partner from a different background was not always easy. Her partner was originally from the Black Sea region, but now studies in the western city of Izmir, which is one of the main hubs for refugees seeking to enter Europe.
That experience, Gumus says, helped to provide common ground.
Overcoming ethnic divides between partners became harder when fighting between the PKK Kurdish rebel group and the Turkish government resumed last July.

Diyarbakir, one of the BAK host cities, witnessed some of the worst fighting. The conflict affected some projects.
For example, "The Resort of the East: Hazar" aimed to show an aspect of Kurdish life rarely seen: normality. Photographer Murat Kartal said he and his partner wanted to show the holiday habits of the region. But, he said, the growing violence caused problems.
"I saw that our efforts could be in vain," he said. "The clashes started and I questioned this, ‘What am I doing here?' When we finish this project and exhibit these photographs, we see the preciousness of peace."
Many observers warn that the deepening ethnic conflict, especially among the young, presents Turkey with one of its greatest challenges.
But those who participated in BAK say they took a small step in bridging that ethnic divide.

1、听力，有三种题型，dialogue(十个对话)，passage(三个短文)，compound dictation(复合式听写，也就是传说中的段子题)，第一种每年必考，后两种逐年交替，其中考passage的次数相对较。最容易得分的是dialogue和passage，只要记住一个超级技巧即可：对话所述事情总是向不好的方面发展。举几个例子：比如对话里问教授的讲座lecture难不难，记住一定难，老师的作业assignment多不多，一定多。永远是一个傻哥们发出邀请，邀请的对象是Mary，问我们游泳好吗，跳舞好吗，吃饭好吗，Mary的回答永远是，我非常的想去，but不去。所以大家记住，只要是对话，必然会发生意外的事情。
2、阅读，这是我们应考的重点，阅读题得分的高低直接影响到你是否能过。选项中照抄或似乎照抄原文的一般不是答案，而同义词替换的是正确答案，选项中表达意义较具体，也就是句子较长的一般不是答案而概括性的，抽象的是答案，选项中有绝对语气词的比如must，never，merely等不是答案而有不十分肯定语气词的是正确答案，比如could，might，possible等。若要求对某段内容进行推论，那么就只看题干要求作答的那一段，符合常识逻辑的一般是答案，比方说为什么美国人很胖，是因为他们吃的肯德基，麦当劳太多了。
3、词汇，对于这种题，赶紧扔掉那些什么词汇串联记忆，黑白记忆，什么家谱式记忆，连环记忆……之类的书吧，或者送人，或者保存好，来年卖给不懂事的大一新生们，要不就拿去垫桌角，方方正正的多好啊!偶还想提醒大家，千万不要在30个词汇题上浪费太多的时间，要知道每个题才0.5分啊，而阅读呢，一个2分，把时间节省出来做阅读吧!
4、完形填空题和简短回答题，这两个题也是逐年交替，其中前者出现的机会远远大于后者，如果你遇到的是完形填空题，你应该庆幸，整个四级考试中，数她最简单了。大家参加过高考的人都知道，做一个完形填空题花的时间可能超过两道阅读题，但是得分呢?相信大家都心中有数。幸亏四级考试中此题每个才0.5分，即使真正的高手在这个题上也不会超过你五分的，但是花的时间却是你的30倍左右。
5、写作，我认为这是最容易应对而且也是最容得分的题!我当时只是在开考前熟记了两个比较有难度的经典句型，考试时想办法在在首句和结尾处各用了一个，然后剩余部分，或者自由发挥，或者写几段偶喜欢的英文歌词。 我提醒大家，我们的目标不是写一篇惊世骇俗的文章，而是尽量在三十分种内不说一句错话，不写一个错单词。再有，写短文时，最好用黑色钢笔，而不要用其他颜色的，特别是圆珠笔，另外，千万要注意书面整齐，书写越整洁，老师看得越清晰，心情就越好，我们的分也就越高!

1.在听力改革之后，短对话不复存在，现在的长对话、短文和讲座/讲话相对较长，出题人在题型设置上也会酌情处理，提升细节题所占比例，如果大家听到某一信息与选项一致或是对其的同义转换，那么该选项很可能为正确答案。
2.听力和其他题型不一样，没那么多的时间给你考虑。很多人都有这样的经历：无法确定一道题的答案，于是多想了一会，才发现下道题的语音已经开始。所以，大家在*日的练习中，应该有意识地注意这个，不要在一道题上犹豫过多。还有在听听力的时候，最好把听到的关键信息拿铅笔记下来，这对于做题很有帮助。我用过巨微英语——四级真题/逐句精解，这本书就把许多实用有效的做题技巧都总结了起来，很方便大家来直接学习，这对于基础不好的人帮助真的`很大。
3.在阅读文章的时候可以进行略读，就是有选择地进行阅读，可跳过某些细节，以求抓住文章的大概，从而加快阅读速度。在阅读时，首先阅读标题，以此预测文章主题。接着阅读文章开头的一、二段，力求抓住文章大意、背景情况、作者态度等信息。如果文章中有转折词或者序列词，其后往往是该段中提纲挈领的主题句，或作者突出强调的细节。
4.翻译题是非常讲究细节的题型，大家在做完之后，首先要检查其中的表述是否完整;然后要检查是否存在漏译和低级的拼写错误(大小写、标点符号、数字、年份等);最后检查时态、语态、主谓一致、名词单复数、冠词(定冠词the及不定冠词a/an)、代词、介词、固定搭配等的使用是否正确。

LONDON— Britain prepares for a momentous vote Thursday that will decide whether it leaves the European Union. The debate has centered on immigration and economic security and has often been bitter. Both sides have lowered the tone of their arguments after a three-day suspension of campaigning that followed the murder of an anti-Brexit lawmaker, an incident that polls indicate has shocked many previously undecided voters who now say they will vote to remain.
These are uncertain times in a nation whose economy is the second largest in the European Union. The stakes are huge.
There are warnings that leaving the 28-member bloc may cause the British pound to lose 15 percent of its value and bring the resignation of David Cameron, the country’s prime minister, whose mandate depends on whether Britain listens to him and votes to remain.
“If we choose to leave, we can leave. But let us be clear - if we do leave, that is it. We are walking out the door,” said Cameron.
For such an important election, many voters complain there has been too little solid information to make a decision and too much scaremongering, and grandstanding by both sides. Flotillas of the “Leave” and “Remain” camps recently faced off on the River Thames.
For months, the Leave campaign has been hitting the streets. Its arguments are based largely on immigration, and the belief that Britain has handed control of its borders to a European super state.
“The U.K. has lost control over migration. We have to accept anyone into this country if they have an EU passport, no matter if they have a criminal record or not. We are not allowed to say ‘no’ to people and that is damaging for the security of the U.K., but it is also putting pressure on jobs and opportunities for young people,” said Tom Harwood, a Brexit campaigner.
The murder of Jo Cox, an anti-Brexit, pro-immigrant lawmaker allegedly by a far right extremist with a history of mental problems had a sobering effect on both campaigns, and on voters.
“There has been a lot of bad feeling because of the way both the Leave campaign, the Brexiters, and the Remain campaign have acted,” said Mary White, a British voter.
Polls since the June 16th murder showed the Leave camp losing ground, but with both sides still very close on a referendum that many believe could change the course of European history.
